The governing board of 凯发登录入口 (UT Dallas) is the University of Texas Board of Regents. The University of Texas Board of Regents is established in the Texas Constitution, 第10至13节.

The Board of Regents was authorized to “establish and maintain a state-supported general academic institution of higher education to be known as 凯发登录入口” by the Texas Legislature in 1971 (Texas Education Code Title 3, 70章). This further provides that “The board may prescribe courses leading to customary degrees offered at leading American universities and may award those degrees. It is the intent of the legislature that those degrees include bachelor’s, 硕士, 还有博士学位, 以及它们的等价物.“然而, 不”部门, 学校, or degree program” can be instituted without the “prior approval” of the Coordinating Board, 德州学院和大学系统.

The legislature also provided that “The board may adopt other rules and regulations for the operation, 控制, and management of the university that are necessary for the conduct of the university as one of the first class.” These additional rules and regulations are published as the Regents’ Rules.

These include the 11 vice presidents and the director of the Office of 战略计划ning and Analysis. The Office of Internal Audit reports indirectly to the president and directly to the UT系统.

The vice president and chief of staff serves as deputy to the president and as a liaison with campus leadership. Responsibilities include developing policy recommendations, assisting in outreach to the University’s community partners and supporters, and providing oversight of several university-wide administrative functions, including: human resources; legal affairs; environmental health and safety; information security; internal audit; institutional compliance, and Title IX initiatives; and the UT Dallas police.

The vice president for academic affairs and provost is the chief academic officer for the University, responsible for the formulation and implementation of educational policy. 教务长负责监督教师招聘, 评价, and advancement; budget priorities and budget allocations for the 学校s; and academic facilities. The provost serves as the University’s primary contact with the UT系统 Office of Academic Affairs.
